July 30, 2004Whither bloggingIn The New Blogocracy at Salon.com, danah boyd expands on her earlier comments about how bloggers compare/relate to journalists. One of her main points is that much of the perceived conflict arises from the slippery definition of this thing we call "blogging": There appear to be four primary conceptual paradigms that frame blogging: 1) journalism; 2) diarying or journaling; 3) note passing; 4) fieldbook note taking.
