Brian Chin's Weblog surveys the Web to spot what people are talking about ...
July 28, 2004Living long in VancouverAnother reason to like Vancouver, B.C.: people live longer there, CBC News reports. Vancouverites' average life expectancy of 81.1 years is, in fact, the highest in Canada, whose national life expectancy is just 79.4 years. It's also quite a bit higher than the national average in the United States, 76.8 years. The newly released study Health of Canadians Living in Census Metropolitan Areas (PDF) also notes, not surprisingly, that Vancouverites smoke less, drink less and tend to be more physically active and less obese than other urban Canadians.
