August 28, 2003Amnesty for towel thievesToday is Holiday Inn's first Towel Amnesty Day, offering clemency for guests who've "borrowed" its trademark green-striped towels. "No, the hotel chain doesn't want its towels back," the Baltimore Sun explains. "It wants the story of why you took the towel and what you've done with it." You can submit your story, and even upload a photo of your towel (!), at the chain's Web site. Yes, the chain admits it's all "a naked publicity stunt," as BBC News put it.
