August 03, 2003Fridge + webcamPeople still aren't rushing out to buy the latest, greatest Internet-enabled refrigerator. But that hasn't discouraged Electrolux. Its new concept MMS Fridge has internal webcams that can snap pictures of what's inside and send them to people's cell phones, Wired News reports. Analysts consulted by Wired News were skeptical about the prospects of smart fridges in general, this model in particular. As Zelos Group principal Seamus McAteer puts it: "If you put a (cell-phone) module on your refrigerator, you're going to get a monthly bill for your refrigerator."
