« 10 top retirement tips for boomers | Main | Author tells of looming pension crisis »
In my series on retirement last week, I mentioned twice the need to make an estimate of how long you'll live for retirement planning purposes.
I said I selected age 92.
When visiting boomer Web sites this weekend, I found a reference to The Spirit of Now Website, which offers a Life Expectancy Calculator.
Using this calculator, I'll live to be 97.3. Eating fruits and vegetables, sleeping eight hours a night, drinking no alcohol, and getting moderate exercise increased my "age." Ancestors with heart disease and diabetis decreased it.
Have you used a calculator like this? If so, are there any you'd suggest others try?

My 401k site wants me to plan to live to 92. I don't know if I want to go much past 60, frankly, unless I can do it mostly "naturally" (ie very few medications, no replacement organs, etc)
